Parmigiani Fleurier commends a long term organization with the Montreux Jazz Festival with a Tonda Metrographe limited edition – a watch that we introduced to you half a month prior . Today, directly during the Festival, we got the opportunity to go involved with this striking, at this point richly shaped chronograph, with a specific dial for this limited edition.

Celebrating its 51st edition this year, the amazing Montreux Jazz is without question one of the world’s most prominent performances. Initially an unadulterated Jazz festival, Montreux can think back on facilitating the absolute most prominent specialists of the previous 50 years. In 1967, a fire broke out during Frank Zappa’s show, rousing the renowned Deep Purple riff ‘Smoke on the water’.

In 2017, George Benson, Herbie Hancock, Lauryn Hill, Pet Shop Boys, Grace Jones, Macy Gray, Erykah Badu, London Grammar, Youssou N’Dour, and Tom Jones are only a portion of the specialists to perform… For the most recent 10 years, Parmigiani Fleurier has been a critical patron of the Montreux Jazz Festival. This year, the Manufacture is delivering a calm, rich limited edition Tonda Metrographe to commend this milestone.

The limited edition depends on the classy facelift of the assortment that was introduced in late 2016 ( read our survey here ). The plan is motivated by the banner of the 2017 festival. The dark dial with a differentiating white date window echoes the highly contrasting portrayal of ladies moving, made uncommonly by visual fashioner Malika Favre for the 51st edition of the Festival.

The Tonda Metrograph case is really particular: exquisite, held however with a slight turn, obvious in the topsy-turvy case plan. It highlights tear-drop hauls on the left of the case while the chronograph pushers are incorporated into the carries on the correct side. 40mm in distance across, the case feels somewhat greater and it wears comfortably on the wrist because of the delicate bend of the hauls. This limited edition comes in completely cleaned steel and the presentation case back is engraved with the subtitle ‘Montreux Jazz festival – 51ème edition – edition limitée x/10′.

The dial format is the one that was presented in late 2016. It highlights reconsidered counter extents, a twofold given little second sign and a tachometer. The dark oxidized completion is featured with unpretentious orange accents. The faceted, radiant hour markers are combined with exquisite alpha sort hands. The distinction with the standard creation piece is the differentiating date sign delivered in white at 12 o’clock.

The Tonda Metrographe is fueled by the type PF350, a particular (Dubois-Depraz) chronograph dependent on the in-house PF331 type. This twin-barrel programmed development runs at 28’800 vibrations each hour and has a 42-hour power save. As consistently with Parmigiani Fleurier, the delightful completion is clear with one look at the sapphire case back. The scaffolds are pleasantly chamfered and include Geneva stripes emanating from the equilibrium wheel. The open-worked rotor is engraved with the brand’s logo.
